Dr. Donald W. Furman O.D., grew up in Macomb, Illinois. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from both Cornell College and Illinois College of Optometry. After three years of service in the U.S. Army, he returned to Iowa.
Dr. Furman has been recognized on regional and national levels for his superior patient care. He has lectured throughout the United States providing education to other optometrists. He currently serves on the board of the Iowa Optometric Association.
Dr. Furman and his wife, Melinda, have two grown children. They enjoy traveling and cooking together. As a certified sommelier, Dr. Furman also has a passion for wine and facilitates wine education and tastings throughout the state.
